We meet inside the Oculus, a mall and transportation hub at Ground Zero. Your guide will be wearing an orange hat and standing by the L’Arte del Gelato stand on the main level.
“What we all went through is beyond words, hard to describe, and almost seems like another lifetime…”
What’s Included
9/11 Memorial
Your private tour begins at the 9/11 Memorial, where your guide brings the site and its symbolism to life with personal stories. At Michael Arad’s Reflecting Absence, two vast waterfalls mark the footprints of the Twin Towers. Your guide will share how the nearly 3,000 victims' names were arranged around the pools, thoughtfully placed beside those they loved and worked alongside. From here, you'll take in the view of the rebuilt World Trade Center, a skyline your guide watched change firsthand.
More at Ground Zero
Every guide's experience of September 11th is their own, and your private tour reflects that. Beyond the 9/11 Memorial, your guide will lead you through a selection of sites shaped by their personal story. These may include the FDNY Memorial Wall, St. Paul’s Chapel, the Survivor Tree, the Brooks Brothers building, the Millennium Hotel, and more. If there are particular sites or stories that matter to your group, let us know when you book and we’ll build the tour around them.
9/11 Museum
Your experience continues inside the 9/11 Museum with something most visitors never have access to: a private, guided tour led by a museum docent. Rather than navigating the collection on your own, your docent will lead your group through dozens of exhibits, including artifacts, firsthand accounts, and historical records, offering personalized insight throughout. Your experience includes skip-the-line access to make the most of your time, and as with the outdoor portion, the tour can be tailored to a specific theme or area of interest.
James was an amazing ambassador for the Ground Zero tour. Hearing from someone who was there that day was impactful. The site itself is a beautiful monument.
